Singing In My Chains – a celebration of Dylan Thomas
15 May

“RAGE, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT”

Singing In My Chains with Ian Griffiths, Monday 15 May 7.30pm, Seckford Theatre

“I wanted to write poetry in the beginning because I had fallen in love with words.” So confessed Dylan Thomas, much loved Welsh poet, whose work will be celebrated for Dylan Day on Monday 15 May at 7.30pm in the Seckford Theatre. His writing is rich and dreamlike, with all the terror and beauty of a fairytale. The musicality of the poetry will delight musicians, its complexity will impress intellectuals, its spirituality will take us all to a new imaginative realm. Ian Griffiths, himself a Swansea poet, will bring the magic of Thomas’ work to life in a powerful performance that takes in the life as well as the work of this troubled genius. Expect to be moved and inspired. Tickets are free for students; parents, grandparents and friends are all very welcome.
