The Stuff of Dreams Theatre Company in association with The Seagull presents

The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

Coming to Woodbridge School for the first time this summer is Stuff of Dreams Theatre Company with their production of Oscar Wilde’s most famous play – ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’. Witness the mad cap escapades of Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrief in this delightful tale of love, mistaken identity and muffins! Watch Cecily and Gwendolyn as they go to war using the mighty weapons of cake and bread and butter and rival each other for the affections of the mysterious Earnest. Will Lady Bracknell relent and allow her daughter to marry the man of her dreams? Will Algernon be christened in time? Will Bunbury live to the end of the performance and will Miss Prism ever find that three volume novel she misplaced all those years ago?

The answers to all these questions and many more may be found in Stuff of Dreams lively and hilarious adaptation of this much – loved comedy. This is your invitation to an unforgettable tea party – but remember ‘cake is rarely seen at the best houses nowadays’.

Please note this is an outdoor performance so a rug and a raincoat may be advisable. In the event of extremely bad weather the performance will take place in The Seckford Theatre

Travelling the region since 20102 Stuff of Dreams are known for their original plays focussed on East Anglian history. Previous work includes ‘Anglian Mist’,  ‘The Poisoners Pact’ and ‘An Honest Gentleman’. Last year they delighted audiences with their outdoor production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
